Daimler acquires 15 % of MyTaxi

Daimler has bought a 15 % stake in MyTaxi a provider of an application that allows people to order a taxi from their smart phone.
The Deutsche Telekom group and the German bank KfW have also invested in the company to the tune of 10 million euros.
The application is currently available in Germany and Austria and will be extended to Switzerland and Spain in February 2012.
MyTaxi is also looking at other markets.
Daimler estimates that MyTaxi is the perfect complement to its own vehicle rental service Car2Go.
